Death Magic

Join Akiima Shields for a course exploring ancient and modern practices and rituals of death, methods of venerating and communing with the dead, as well as working with the energy of death itself in magic and ceremony.

The first portion of the course will delve into extant cultural practices. The second portion will work on helping students to develop their own frameworks dealing with death and the dead. These will be based on the common elements found throughout the world, but should avoid appropriating anything from cultures that the student themself does not belong to.

We will also discuss the legal and safety issues involved so that students will be able to build a risk aware practice.

This course is intended to last approximately three months. Live classes will take place from 8:30 PM EST to 10:00 PM EST, and the course will be posted to our learning management system for those who cannot attend live. Class starts on the 21st of February. We look forward to seeing you there!

You will receive email updates on how to access your LMS account and participate in the course. Our suggested donation is $50 for the course; however, payment in order to attend is not required, as students are also serving as pilot users for our program. Completion will count for elective course credit for future degrees in the Divinity track offered through our seminary program.
