This course teaches a comprehensive history of the Tarot, as well as an extremely thorough exploration of the divinatory interpretation of each of the cards. Each card has two classes dedicated to it, the first of which covers the cultural influences on the card’s inclusion in the deck, and then the shifting imagery of the card from the 1450s to modern day. The second class covers the interpretation of the card by the instructor, upright and reversed, for general, past, present, future, love, work, money, health, spirituality, and LGBTQIA-centered readings, as well as common card combinations. It then records the interpretation of the card in the systems of Waite and Smith, The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Mathers, Crowley, Etteilla, Ouspensky, Thierens, and Case.
